U.S. Debt Balloons to $7 Trillion More Than It Was When Obama Took Office!

The United States government's accumulated debts have grown by more than $7 trillion – with a 't' – since Barack Obama became president on January 20, 2009.
The sad milestone was revealed on July 31 by the U.S. Department of the Treasury on a 'debt to the penny' website that calculates the debt at the end of every business day.
On Obama's first day in office the debt stood at $10.626 trillion. Last Thursday it reached $17.687 trillion.

During a July 2008 campaign speech in North Dakota, then-Senator Obama ripped into the Bush administration for running up the federal debt by a total of $4 billion near the end of his second term.
'The problem is,' he said, 'is that the way Bush has done it over the last eight years is to take out a credit card from the Bank of China in the name of our children, driving up our national debt from $5 trillion for the first 42 presidents – #43 added $4 trillion by his lonesome, so that we now have over $9 trillion of debt that we are going to have to pay back – $30,000 for every man, woman and child.'
'That’s irresponsible,' Obama said then. 'It’s unpatriotic.'

How else is he going to pay for the welfare crowd and all the illegals.

Just a little disingenuous.  The thread is about debt not deficit.  The debt is past $17 trillion.  The debt has been increasing every year well before Obama got into office.  The deficit is also misleading due to a variety of reasons.  Many economist argue that a big part of the massive debt we have now is in part due to the lowering of taxes and the execution of two wars which were never funded, and the real estate fiasco.  All contributed to a clusterphuck of a storm in 2008/9.

Spin it however you want , the deficit has climbed over $7 trillion, under BaRack......period!

Right now every citizen owes $55,000 for this debt and "Tax Paying" citizens, the ones footin' the bill owe $151,000 !

If you are going to argue the point at least get your terminology correct.  The debt increased by $5T (not $7T, the deficit has been reduced.

Carter 42% increase ($299B)
Reagan 182% increase ($1.8T)
H Bush 54% increase ($1.5T
Clinton 32%  increase ($1.4T)
W Bush 101% increase ($5.8T)
Obama 44% increase ($5T) Through Fiscal 2013

Seems pretty useless.  Every year a budget is passed and things change.  How did previous budgets affect the 2024 prediction?
