Soliders returning home from war were charges $2800 for extra bags. Delta Airlines said they have 3 bag limiit and the soldiers state their contract orders state they can ship 4 bags.

Way to go Delta.

American take this opportunity to make some positive press.

The continuing service of these soldiers is what allows this country's executives to act as a group of greedy pigs at the trough - in China (which corporate America adores) execs might have been executed for stupidity such as this. Corporate America and our government has already sold the Chinese our country so it's just a matter of time 'til the new owners' rules kick in - we might even get to watch.

I would love to export a few of these lovely executives to a war zone simply to see how long it would take for them to pee their pants once the rounds start flying overhead.

Regardless - American probably would only have charged them half price ($1400), regardless of what contract there was with the military.

How low can you go, Delta?

Can't wait to see WT's take on this......

Making hay out of this would be the dumbest thing AA could do. After all, only a couple years ago, it was AA made the same mistake and received tons of negative press for it. For AA to speak up on this issue and try to capitalize on DL's mistake would be like crowing about your impeccable safety record after a competitor's airplane crashes. You don't do it because the next crash (or the last crash) will probably be your airline.

once again, FWAAA shows his common sense...
esp. since AA, CO, and UA (and likely others) have the exact same military baggage allowances that DL just changed to add yet one more free bag.

Military Baggage
Active U.S. Military personnel are allowed to check three pieces of baggage free of charge.
Each checked bag in the free allowance may be up to 62 inches and weigh up to 50 lbs. The size limitation of your luggage is calculated by adding the total outside dimensions of each bag, that is, length + width + height.
Active U.S. Military personnel traveling on orders are allowed one bag in the free allowance up to 100 lbs. and 115 inches. The second and third bags are free of charge up to 50lbs. and 62 inches. Travel orders must be presented when checking the bag.
The 70 lb. maximum bag weight limit for Europe and Asia does not apply for U.S. military baggage if traveling on orders.
Military ID must be presented. Traveling in uniform is not required.

congrats, FWAAA, for rising above the mindlessness around you.
