When half your day is in planning meetings or on conference calls, you really need a door.

Personally, I think everybody needs a door in the office somewhere. When you have zero privacy, I would imagine that is going to hurt productivity.. When the cubicle rage hit the oil company where I worked, everyone felt exposed, no privacy and the management types spent the day wandering the aisles making sure that everyone was in their cubicle working. (Management tended to be old-fashioned. An employee is not working unless you can see them working.) We all felt like we were being spied on. It did not do much for productivity.
