Is the impact of yesterday's court action already affecting AA's operational performance?

Currently, AA's operational performance is trailing its network peers by a wide shot, including UA which has struggled all summer and spring w/ merger and automation related issues.

AA 35 cancellations, 66% on-time
DL 11 cancellations, 84% on-time
UA 17 cancellations, 71% on-time
US 8 cancellations, 78% on-time

Information from flght stats.

Surprise! Surprise!

Flightstats is good, but not perfect. What they show for free is not always complete, nor does it carry the same confidence level as what they sell to their commercial accounts.

masFlight is more accurate from my experience. They have a few more data sources that they bring in to have a more complete picture of OTD.

AA's still performing better than UA. Even yesterday.

Yeah, and guess how many were due to lack of flight crew.

AA is desperately short of pilots.

Better start the beatings of higher monthly max and perpetual reassignments. That will really "motivate" the flight crews.

AA WAS performing better than UA. Yesterday.

Today is today.

Flight stats or not, the trend is still there.

The focus here is on what AA as the operating carrier is doing relative to its operating peers.

Clearly the NE was severely impacted yesterday.

Let's see what masFlight comes out with tomorrow, [edited]. The data you see today will be adjusted within about 48 hours as reconciliation between multiple data sources takes place. They just don't show the reconciled data in their free source because 99% of their user base could care less about accuracy. They just want to know if Aunt Betsy's flight has landed so they can avoid paying $3 to park for 30 minutes...

the actual numbers are not the point. But when you find the "reconciliation" please be sure to include the report for other carriers.

AA's performance is falling - quickly.

OT is down to 61% - 38 cancellations.

Please don't tell me you are surprised.

We'll know in about 11 hours. Why don't you subscribe and do your own comparison?

Don't we need more than a few days data to call anything a trend?

Sometimes people see exactly what they want to see.

Tuesday's delays were primarily weather-driven with storms all up and down the east coast. Although almost 80 AA-marketed flights were cancelled on Tuesday, only about 17 were mainline AA, the rest were MQ (Eagle) or Chautauqua.

On Wednesday, O'Hare was affected by storms:

September 5, 2012 (CHICAGO) (WLS) -- Both of Chicago's airports are experiencing delays due to weather conditions on the East Coast.

The Chicago Department of Aviation said passengers should expect delays of 45 minutes at O'Hare International Airport, where as many as 80 flights were canceled.

Despite the incomplete preliminary reports provided by Flightstats, looks to me like the final numbers for AA on Wednesday may have been affected by the Chicago weather.

Sometimes people see exactly what they want to see.

Exactly!
The same people who are living vicariously through the pilots admirable contract stance.
They want to believe that a reaction has been made, therefore they hang on to every word and action made by the pilot group.
