Airbus now has more orders for AB320 than Boeing has for 737's. Not a surprise. However, this presents a problem for heavy 737 users such as Southwest and AA. If AB is that far ahead on firm orders, it makes the possibility of finding a substitute for the 737 any time soon difficult. Of course WN or AA could offer another airline a BIG pot of money to jump ahead in the line--assuming that they have a big pot of money in the bank.

Airbus has orders for 15,193 AB320 aircraft! I'm assuming that includes all variants--AB321, AB321XLR, etc.

I'd think that number probably also includes options. If not options, there are undoubtedly orders for flash in the pan outfits that will go bust between now and the time the first metal for their aircraft gets cut.
