Aircraft maint issues

I wonder why all those hangar bays and and hangar spots are always full of airplanes? I dont know but, they all look like they're flying aa colors. Strange indeed.

Thx for the update, I was going by what tech svc guys, current DFW and former DFW mechs tell me. You guys must be doing a great job with 700 some mechs when you use to have a 1000 mechs working there.

You're right, a ton of work has left DFW. There used to be a 777 B check, 3 757 B checks. Not to mention Interior checks, engine changes, fuel tank work, MD80 isotopes, and a lot of A checks. With the MD80s leaving, more work will leave. Thing is, most DFW AMTs don't miss the work. It was mostly midnight slots, and they are not keen to get them back, because that would create unwanted vacancies. I think mgmt knows this, that any such work brought back would not be well received.

I doubt there was ever "a 1000" title 1 mechanics.

DFW is a product of what happens when you have inept management constantly passing through there changing things. This goes well before the LUS group by the way. DFW was once the place to get work done that no one else could. The damage that has been done there would take years to fix, and that would require a proper management team.

When they started cycling MDs through 1 after the other right after first Judge, then Valerotti, that was the beginnings of the extreme mismanagement. Early 2000s, those posers took the station from maintenance hub to quicky lube gas station. And now the America west clowns that havent got a clue.

Sad but business unfortunately. It's amazing how much MRO work Delta does, especially their engine shops, that makes money for Delta.

How long has it been now? 6 years?
TC, Aug 16th of 2018 was the 6 year marker. So now we are working on the 7th year. Nothing is scheduled as of yet. We are hearing that the company is failing to meet on a regular basis. Probably nothing until next year in Jan. but not set as of yet. More rumblings that the company will not adjust their schedule to meet, so here we go again with the stall tactics by the company.
Now, before anyone starts yelling that the Pilots and F/A's and maybe even another group is starting nego's soon it has no bearing on our group whatsoever. All totally different groups nego them.
We do have a new nego team on the co. side and they really need to show that they are willing to get this done, otherwise they will just continue playing their games with stalling and extending which didn't work with the last group that was replaced.
The AMFA nego team will be changing slightly next year as well as 2-3 ALR's were voted out and therefore will not be returning to the table in 2019.
Rumor is the mediator is trying to set a lot more dates in Jan instead of the BS 2-3 days a month and the company is back stepping from the dates. NOT a geed sign from the NEW nego team for the company, so it looks like it will be 7 years until new contract (if were lucky). We will see how the company answers the dates for Jan. 2019.

BTW TC; where are you guys at in nego's? Did you guys get any more dates set other than those conference calls?? Any more set for 2018 or are you guys also looking at 2019??? Good luck we all need it at this time. Another holiday without a contract yet again.

At least they ain't been working under a 15+ year bankruptcy/concessionary contract.

Great negotiating skills there TWU!

Maybe dem 'Cowpoke Consultants' we payin' for now can hep us out! :)
And you would think our company would want to resolve this quickly as the longer they take the more and more expensive it gets with retro, back pay (snap up) as they just realized with the offer that was passed to them with another year added into it.
They also realized that our economist also proved to their replaced nego team, that by moving the contract date from Aug to April did in fact so a savings for the co. of 37 million, so that too is also what changed as the union will not accept changing the contract date from Aug 16th as it has been from the get go.
All the unions current ask is for leaving everything else T/A'd alone and as is in agreement with the last co. nego team, and the simple change in economics is the real retro/backpay, snap up %, as well as more realistic outgoing raises during these record upon record profits. And we are not asking for the increase in 401K like the Pilots got, therefore we are asking for the raises instead so we can invest as we desire.
According to folks in the know if anything else is requested to be re-opened the cost will increase accordingly as well as taking longer to get an agreement. Not sure the co. wants any further delays with all the investigations going on and trying to get ETOPS done ASAP for 2019 sales to Hawaii.
Good luck to you guys on getting your new contact, hope the wait is worth it for you guys too...

Shouldn't this be on the SWA Thread, how does this help them? I guarantee we go more than 7 years, it won't just be ALRs voted out, as these arrogant assholes needed to go. It might be AMFA, you never know.

swamt trying to get someone to listen to him. Needs to be out on the SWA floor with his game plan. Waiting on Seham advice and still searching for pick and shovel to dig him out of his gopher hole and lawsuits. Go Figure!
