Airline Workers Struggle With Pay Cuts
By Adam Geller, AP Business Writer
Airline Workers Struggling to Deal With Cuts to Pay and Benefits, Lack of Job Security

DES PLAINES, Ill. (AP) -- The phone line in Dave Meyers' third-floor walkup has been turned off to save cash, and the brown velour sofas, bought second-hand, are bare in a few spots. Still, the modest apartment is about what you'd expect for a single guy who spends most of what he earns. The problem for Meyers -- a United Airlines rampworker whose pay has been cut twice in the past two years -- is that he consistently spends more. Child support is nearly $700 a month. Of the remaining $1,600, rent claims another $700, and is unpaid although it's the 11th of the month.

Workers Struggle

I just hope that United Employees dont go thru the change that in which the citie are either class 1 or class2 which is with the provision of outsourcing. also hopefully their union will do more to protect them than what we in class 2 cities got.

That article is so much true. There are so many people with all airlines that are in the same shape. Anymore you have to rob Peter to pay Paul. Divorce in this industry has taken its toll on everyone. Then the industry has also.
