What should we expect from the return to talks that resume today? Considering that NW is maintaining the stance of keeping SCABS...NOT MUCH!

I believe that the strike has only lasted this long because of so many SCABS crossing the AMFA picket line. Parking airplanes must be working pretty good. There is too the matter of aborted take offs, maintainence delays and MELs.

The fact that AMFA strikers still picket here in MSP is a huge source of aggrevation for NW. Recently two stikers were banned from airport property for one year after being suspected of placing nails on an aiprot road. Violence against SCABS has happened here in MSP but has gone largely unreported. NW executives still live with guards (what a life).

AMFA strikers have adopted the stance that this strike is for life if necessary. I admire these folks. Unlike the cowards and boot lickers who cross the picket line, these folks have the metal to go the distance.

At this point anyone with any common sense must realize that the world would be a better place without the current executives. WHAT TERRIBLE PEOPLE!

What, specifically, do you admire the most...the caltrips in the road, or the use of violence?...or both?....and you people wonder why unionism ranks in the BOTTOM 10 percent of trusted and prestigious institutions in this country....dont you realise that this very post merely re-inforces a VERY innaccurate stereotype of the REAL decent honorable working men and women, who HAPPEN to be union? As for the rest of you on this board, your silence is deafening....just as the muslims in this country remain silent towards the more bloodthirsty of their members, so also do you remain silent towards those here who condone acts of violence. Do you now have the testicular fortitude to openly condemn those responsible for such acts, or do you agree with them, but are too cowardly to support such lawlessness publically?

CSAR and the dc9fanatic. Peas in a pod. I will say that the honor is on the outside gentlemen. Have you signed your IAM card yet CSAR? I'm sure they've been around. When you are covered under an IAM agreement then you will have a reason to despise unions. Enjoy your little honeymoon period at nwa. The management of this company is not done with you yet. When the moral dips further on the inside and then Dougie realizes that $1.4B isn't quite enough to give him profitability, he'll be back.
The title of the thread is resumption of the talks. If by some chance a vote comes out, I will vote no if it includes keeping replacement SCABs on the property. I only know a few mechanics that would not use this as their first litmus test of a potential agreement.

I didn't/don't expect anything from whatever talks there were today between AMFA and NW.

NW will never get a dime out of me, my family or friends ever again. For them to spend millions on training scab workers instead of bargaining in good faith with their dedicated workers is criminal.

We are working at other airlines helping THEM to be profitable. We're using our skills at other jobs in industry and adding to their bottom lines. With our skills and work ethic we are being "Chosen" by other companies because they recognize our worth to them. Some are getting hired by the FAA, some in airline management and some are fufilling a dream of self employment and being their own boss. These are the ones that I know about personally. So we do have a life thank you.
We stay on this board to keep the message out in front that nwa was decietful in the way it treated it's mechanic group. We encourage other groups to stand up and take action.
Is nwa on the ropes? Why else come and offer or acccept the offer to resume talks. Don't forget that tomorrow is Wednesday and time for another "normal emergency".

I do apologise for "hijacking" this post. In retrospect, perhaps this challenge should have been made its own thread.
As to this "IAM" nonsense, no, I have not, nor do I intend to. I firmly believe that unionism in its modern form is a corrupt, overly beurocratic, mindboggleing inefficient means of doing business. To be fair, I feel the same way about most corporations run by legal beagle REMF pogues. Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. This is true regardless of the institution you serve.
I have no problem if unions want to form for the good of workers, providing there are checks and balences governing BOTH SIDES, and that the unions do more to police their own. I just wish the unionist would support my right to be non-union as much as I support their right to BE union.

The mechanics walked out on strike at NWA, not only to defend their standard of living, but to defend their profession from being destroyed. So what does dumbass CSAR and PTO do? They help not only NWA management lower wages and benefits for NWA aircraft mechanics, but also help lower wages and benefits for all aircraft mechanics elsewhere. All for a free hotel room and a box of chinese tools.

I think it's funny how CSAR and PTO try to justify their scabby ways and then cry when their tires get slashed or rocks get thrown at them. CSAR you need to talk to some D-Day veterans. They will not tell you getting shot at is exillerating.

In fact Pinkerton Security named in the link is still in business today. Providing rogue companies with "security services" while the company rapes and pillages the employee's during a strike.
