In the video, the married family-values crusader from Yorba Linda talks in graphic detail about women he said he slept with -- at least one of whom appeared to be a lobbyist with business before the utilities committee on which Duvall sat as vice chairman

I fail to understand how elected officials can believe that they will successfully get away with this behavior. This guy specifically, is cheating on his family while banging a whore who is paid by a company who has business before the committee that Duvall sat on. Yea, that's easy to keep quite.

This is the age of Youtube, internet, camera phones and instant communication. Attention all politicians: Keep both heads zipped. Good grief.

Power Corrupts

This thread will turn into a tit for tat battle of which power hungry political party is worse when it comes to the wielding of their power for sexual favors from those easily seduced by power and money.

This is not new or unique to the United States. It's just a more sophisticated form of Prostitution. The only difference is it's harder to determine whether the Politician is the Pro or the John.

Piney, I've read some of your past posts and understand that as a conservative, southern Baptist you have your opinion on gay marriage. What strikes me as odd and I am sure to Garfield and many others is that these Law Makers who want to "Defend" and "Define" marriage as a sacred rite between a man and woman will do everything in their power to rile up the masses and scream at the top of their voices that if two women or two men marry, society will fall apart.


Freedom listed a very long list of democrats that have been involved in sex scandals and I'm sure that someone could list an equally long list of republican scandals. You correctly pointed out that when someone is in power, either politicaly, financially or whatever the case, they come to believe they are invincible and want all of the candy in the room. It just leaves my head shaking that a conservative lawmaker denies two consenting adults their right to marry and then brags to a fellow lawmaker that they are cheating on their spouse, learning that they like some lite bondage and also finds another gal to romp around the room and they get a 100% rating from conservative religous groups.

I think financial corruption happens to all of them and I am not surprised. The sexual promiscuity also happens on both sides of the aisle but there is one notable difference between the two. Who promotes them selves as being for family values and holier than thou? Barney Frank is openly gay. I have not done a search but is there a republican counter part?

Interestingly enough if you take some time and get one of those Bibles where the actual words of Jesus are in red and read only those passages an interesting picture begins to appear.

Seems that Jesus was far more concerned about hypocrisy then any current church is as they generally rant and spew venom over sin. That was never the bulk of Christ's message. He taught us to hate the sin yet love the sinner. Sadly we don't see much of that coming from the religious right who seem to feel they have cornered the market on righteousness and therefore are above reproach. Which of course they aren't.

My issues with so called "Gay Marriage" centers around the use of the word marriage as it implies a spiritual covenant. You want to call it a "Civil Union" that confers the same legal rights as a heterosexual marriage contract does then I'm all for it.

With power comes corruption of every stripe including hypocrisy. Mike Duvall is a full blown hypocrite just as all of the other names posted by Freedom.

Jesus associated with beggars, leppers, prostitutes and the poor. He went againt the ruling power of the day. He was a a real Socialist. Unlike the phoney Wall Street funded communist/socialist totalitarian thugs of modern times, he was a man of the people. A true revolutionary.
