Now that ATA is defunct who is operating their charter contracts?
Didn't they maintain the L1011-500 and DC10-30 just for military charter work?
What about the 4 757-300s now idle?
I know that both Omni and NorthAmerican already operate the B757-200.

I don't know who got their contract work, but loss/cancellation of government contracts was one of, if not ,THE reason they are no longer in busniess

ATA was tken over by GAL(globl aero Logistics), that as comprised of World Airways, and North American. World took over ATA's Military charter. ATA purchase of a bunch of old ex NWA dc-10's out of the desert did us in.

Will World and North American give ATA employees preference in hiring?
I've not heard very many great thing about North American but World is
suppose to be a great airline to work for.
I loved charter work myself. It sure beat the domestic layovers I had
working for a major.

Does anyone then anticipate World taking over those same NWA/ATA aircraft?
If they have obtained those extra contracts it would seem thay would need
additional aircraft to fly them. I mean I'm sure they had their own charter
assignments to fulfill before ATA went under. It seems improbable they would
cancel them in favor of the military movements unless it's a national emergency.

I think I've found the answer to my own question.
According to another site World will be acquiring 2 DC-10s from that ATA/NWA lot and
one other is being returned to World off lease. I have no idea however if they will all be maintained as passenger aircraft.
