Bin Loading on the A321neo

They were removed from the 737 and 757 because of the weight savings some bean counter figured out. Also heard that when the aircraft new paint scheme came about the extra weight of the paint would offset the removal of the magic carpets. The real reason is probably cost to maintain. My guess.

The short time I worked at TUL 757 carpets often did not work.

My understanding is they were a maintenance issue.

That being said when they DID work they sure made it a lot easier to load an aircraft.
