Continental Airlines reported a wider first-quarter loss on Wednesday as a significant falloff in business travel more than offset a sharp decline in jet fuel costs. For the recent quarter, the Houston-based carrier reported a net loss of $136 million, or $1.10 a share, wider than the carrier's loss of $82 million, or 82 cents a share, in the first three months of 2008. There were about 25.5% more shares outstanding in the latest quarter used to compute the per-share loss.
