Delta Asks Pilots' Union for Second Round of Cuts in Wages and Benefits

By MICHELINE MAYNARD
Published: September 13, 2005
Delta Air Lines, which is said to be on the brink of filing for bankruptcy protection, asked its pilots for a second round of wage and benefit cuts late yesterday, according to the Air Line Pilots Association.

Rest of article (Registration is required, but free.)

The article said that wage levels being proposed by the company were in the WN and B6 range! Anyone have any further details?

When the DL Pilots gave up concessions last time they had a clause put in place. Delta is not allowed to ask for concessions again unless they meet certain criteria. Luv2Fly may know what that this?

IIRC, the trigger was the cash balance falling below some amount under $1.7 billion, and DL reached that point recently.

Bears: The benefit to discussing concessions now is a possible agreement on the pilot pensions.

I think you mean, Thanks UsAir and all the companies that went before.
Oh yeah, what about all those folks willing to work for no retirement.
No doubt, UAL caved, but it was not in a vacuum.
