In response to Flight Attendant Feed back, Delta will be removing seats from the narrowbody fleet to make more room for our work area. no dues went towards this effort just open dialogue.
We asked they listened and implemented.
3 seats from the 320 and 321 and 2 seats from the MD90

Outstanding, Baba.

it was a sore spot and the company listened.

Congrats to you and your coworkers and DL's cooperative labor-mgmt. approach.

you are incorrect. The testing phase begins shortly with mods on certain types to begin quickly. Certain types like the 321 aren't even in the fleet. The 320 and 319s have very few aircraft modded already.

Those who are inside the Delta family can access the factual information including schematics of what the new configurations involve.

There is also pilot news that DL will be extending the life of some of the 757s previously marked for retirement. Very possibly, DL was counting on the extra seats from the rejected pilot TA and will extend some 757s instead.

Growth continues to be on the horizon for DL.

"In all, more than 650 aircraft will undergo modifications to improve flight attendant work space"

Complete by 2018--Pretty fast timeline for 650 a/c . Most likely while keeping with the industry leading completion rates.

more FUD.

1) pilots don't order aircraft
2) The 757 final count is still floating. As long as fuel stays low more and more 757s that are due for the 4th overhaul will get them and new cabins. Has nothing to do with the TA and everything to do with the 757 not having a true replacement.

company is also searching for more young ETOPS birds.

Which ones?
MD90s, 737s and the little busses.

Thank you, but I meant which seats. Sorry I wasn't clearer...
oh basically one side of the back row on the buses and 90s. I can't remember exactly what they are doing to the 737.

No seats removal of the 738/9 just galley mods
Removing :
Seats 39 AB on the 90
Seats 33ABC on the 32K
Seats 38 DEF on the 321
