Just wondering if the counts for the Delta -election were in .Sure would love to know Thanks

Dates for the election haven't even been established....

Ask again in 10-12 weeks...

I kinda thought we would have heard from the NMB by now on the Single Carrier Determination.
Twelve weeks will be December 10th...getting very close to the holidays. The 2001/02 election period ran over the holidays and I have read where that proved to be one of several elements that contributed to a loss for AFA, who is depending on an actionable vote from f/a's. We all know how busy and stressful the holidays can get........
It took 3 months from the time DL f/a's filed for the 08 election until the vote closed (Feb 14-May 18) and that was with 13,000 f/a's. This is 21K...will a longer voting period not be requested? I would behoove the AFA for the NMB to issue their finding very soon.

You will hear something very interesting...very soon. Hold your horses for a couple of days. The board only worked part of the week due to Labor Day.

I hope it's something "interesting." Almost 7 weeks to make a SCD when it's already been done for the pilots, dispatchers, etc...?!

Probably a list of more Grievances...........

Typical "grievances" are filed with the company, not the NMB. Maybe you meant "requests."
But the main thing is..whatever the NMB says should be respected. That doesn't mean you have to agree with it, just like AFA didn't agree that the previous NMB's (Rep) finding that Delta's conduct did not amount to interference. AFA made some challenges, but at the end of the day, the NMB's decision was respected. The same should apply here.

Well here it is...

"The Transportation Trades Department of the AFL-CIO, which represents workers in every industry covered by the Railway Labor Act, has filed a petition with the National Mediation Board to amend the procedural manual to require a “Yes or No†ballot in representation elections – the procedure in every other election in America.

This is good news for all Delta flight attendants, since our pending representation election puts us at the center of a national campaign by transportation employees to request the NMB to approve a more democratic “Yes or No†ballot.

For too long, transportation employees have been subjected to a “50 percent plus 1†plurality judgment, in which those who do not vote are counted as “No†votes. That’s patently undemocratic, even Orwellian.

The Board will review the TTD petition and give its decision. They will provide a timetable to resolve the ballot question. It is expected that there will be the normal period for public and corporate comment following the Board's initial response regarding the TTD petition.

In updating rules governing elections in our industry, the NMB would be taking a monumental step. These rules were created at the turn of the last century, when rail was the only jurisdiction of the Railway Labor Act. The board can act alone to change the rule.

At stake is the right of every flight attendant to have his or her vote recorded – whether it is a Yes, No, or an abstention. NMB elections for the past 70-plus years have required that a union gain more than 50 percent of the entire bargaining unit.

Many companies have taken advantage of the "50 percent plus 1" rule by padding the ranks of the actual workforce with names of employees that no longer work for the company.

In any case, we can expect the NMB to be challenged by management and certain interest groups that may delay the Delta vote to December, or later. We regret this delay and want to make it clear that we have no desire to extend the election process. However, we will use this time to continue our conversations with Delta flight attendants at every base, explaining how working together will create opportunity and security for ourselves, and success for the world's greatest airline, Delta.

Delta flight attendants are ready, willing and able to negotiate an industry-leading contract that benefits both Delta Air Lines and its flight attendants.

As we go from airport to airport, we are seeing an upswing in support not only from pre-merger Northwest flight attendants, but also from pre-merger Delta flight attendants. Delta no longer can defend its wage and benefit structure, and we have the facts and figures to prove it.

The TTD petition with the NMB comes as Delta faces not only the flight attendant representational election, but also a series of representational elections for workers at Delta/Northwest with the Machinists. A quick resolution is the best in every case, and we will work with our fellow Delta employees in solidarity, members of the IAM and ALPA, to make Delta the greatest unionized airline in the world."

The request was made on September 2nd...

This is what you were calling "juicy"?? LOL
OK, you have to start watching Gossip Girl or something similar to uncover the true meaning of "juicy"!! ;)
OK...that being said, I do agree a YES/NO is the only fair way. I guess everyone can relax about all this AQ training and all the hubub, rush, rush, rush..to try to get us integrated. Sounds like this will end up being challenged and will drag on and on.....More "cross-fleeting" anyone??

Soooooooo if the yes/no votes happens and AFA still loses, will they ever accept defeat, or where will they place blame this time?

Its not like the FA's are living under a rock and unaware about a pending union vote, especially after last years going down in epic flames. Let the yes/no vote happen I say. Law of unintended consequences may very well rear its head and give the opposite response the AFA is wishing for.
