DL Contractor Strike?

We'll have to get clarification from WT, but I believe his theory is that typically these types of job actions would have a detrimental effect on the largest carrier, the exception being if that carrier is DL.

as of this hour, other carriers have more cancellations at LGA and JFK than DL and its affiliates.

Aw, Kev, don't go injecting facts into the spin.

I'm more curious to understand why someone thinks that an entry level job with no more of a hiring standard than to have a pulse and pass a background check is worth $15/hour.

It is business as usual. Other carriers cancel more flights than DL

Given that the Port and DL both are well aware of what could happen, business as usual today will likely continue ne regardless of what happens tomorrow

It doesnt, but you know he is the resident DL Cheerleader and DL can do no wrong.

DL's operational reliability is precisely why DL has seen revenue premium.

The only reason why anyone would be worried about whether a labor action involving DL contractors would have an effect on DL operations is if they believe that DL can't adapt to whatever happens.

The Port Authority and DL are well aware of what will happen; there is no evidence and simply innuendo can't they aren't prepared.

and for the time being, DL continues to run a more reliable operation than its competitors.

Like Kevin said, they havent walked off the job yet.

Not easy to replace all of them, we shall see what happens when the strike occurs.

and they may not need to be all replaced anyway.

If DL and the Port Authority can cover the work, they might not see another paycheck.

given that unionized airline employees have had their entire dept. vis a vis AMFA at NW, it isn't hard to believe that a group of contractors could face the same fate.

The Port has nothing to do with covering vendors that DL hires.

Are you dizzy from all your spinning or do you just take a spin class?

And anyone that is going to be a replacement worker, has to be drug tested, fingerprinted and background check, and that cant all happen in one week.

But you have been gone for so long you dont know SIDA regulations and operations.
