DL not playing fair?

An interesting article. I see delta is against having a DAL or MDW or HOU type airport in their backyard. No surprise there. No double standard either?

DFW didn't want a 2nd airport in their backyard and WN only got there by spending years in court.

DEN didn't want a 2nd airport in their backyard and destroyed the runways to have a repeat of DAL. Tell UA it wasn't fair to destroy the runways at the former DEN airport.

ATL doesn't want a 2nd airport in their backyard but it probably doesn't really matter - the airport in question is so far out of town that it would be convenient to at best 5% of the Atlanta metro area.

it won't happen for a lot of reasons but mostly because it just can't compete against ATL's location.

and it still won't stop DL from adding flights from that airport if another carrier does. ATL #2 will have no restrictions on anyone who wants to serve it.

let me know when someone else succeeds at gaining a foothold in ATL.

let me answer that for u Frugual...   NO!!!         How cld this be overlooked as jcw has been asking for a list of all the wrong doings by DL   this has to be near or at the top..     Good luck Allegiant   Itll be interesting to see how this plays out

It would be convenient to most of the high-value, higher-income residents of ATL who probably don't appreciate locking their doors to drive all the way to the "other side of the tracks" to ATL.

we've been thru Atlanta geography before. I've lived there.

Paulding County is not any more convenient to the vast majority of the travelers to/from Atlanta than ATL.

but, if you can't see the conflict of interest at the Paulding County Airport, then maybe this will help you.

"The Paulding County Commissioner, chairman of Propeller Airports and a former official at the FAA accused Delta of "harming consumers and stifling economic development in the region," in their letter to the Transportation Department"

The agency told Reuters that its examination of the complaint, which was filed by county commissioners and a private group looking to develop the project, is not a formal investigation

The Paulding County Commissioner has financial interests, called up friends in Washington to rattle the cages in order to try to get ATL and DL to back off.

Not only is there no proof that DL acted illegally or that the City of Atlanta was just as opposed but there is plenty of reason to see that the person who initiated the complaint has a lot of financial interests - none of which will solve the problem that the Paulding County airport is not located in an ares of the metro Atlanta area to attract passengers that currently use ATL.

Must you resort to character assassination?

I think you should brush up on your reading comprehension skills.
First, from the information in the article, it looks like that the Propeller Airports guy was at FAA, not the county official.

Second, isn't it ironic that an Atlanta law firm is involved in the lawsuits to challenge the proposed new airport is working for free.
Yeah, DL is as pure as a snowflake.

Ofcourse if you do have other information on the corrupt county official - specifically related to the Silver Comet airport, feel free to share.

PS.  WholeTruth!

huh?

plz don't tell me that you can't see the financial conflict of interest.
sure there is a financial conflict of interest, DL's financial interest, or they would not be opposed...RA says it will be a failure, but you stated that DL will put flights in if this plan comes to be....we'll see who is right..

and even if DL paid the lawyer, is that illegal?

yes, there is a conflict of interest on the side of the Paulding county airport.

and none of it will change that the airport has virtually no commercial value.

Yes like the preacher double standard DL perfectly rational that DL would hide its objection

It's where WT learned some of his skills

Could that conflict of interest in Paulding county perhaps involve the 3 new officials that were bought / paid for by DL? Nah, DL is pure as the snow!
Everybody sees through your BS.
