ETOPS cert on 737-800s

Just to add an interesting tidbit to the discussion.....

The jet features the fuselage of the commercial 737-700 and the wings and landing gear of the larger 737-800.

Wow! Taking a page from the DC-8-62 book: Combining a fuselage that was only marginally longer than previous DC-8 series with the wings (and engines) of the already fairly long-ranged DC-8-63 gave Douglas the longest-ranged airliner of it's day.
 
I didn't really mean to derail this thread, but now that we're here I wonder what ANA is gonna use these things for?
