Facility Mechanics?

Thanks, do you happen to know what cities they're in?
Yes and No. We have them in Dallas. I am not sure if we have them anywhere else. If I were to guess I would say anywhere we have the heavy maint, but I only know of Dallas, and more than likely because of our headquarters being in Dallas with all the MC and training buildings just erected. You can go to Southwest.com click on careers and check. Not even sure if they are hiring FM's right now but good luck to you.

You're probably better off applying for a job at AA. They have far more jobs usually available in your field than SWA.

Check out AA Careers and good luck.

Thanks for the info but I left AA as a facility mechanic already.
May I ask you what the FM at AA were getting paid? Are they under the same contract as the aircraft mechanics? I do know that the FM's here just voted in their T/A but I do not know the pay scale for them. When I get a copy of their contract I will let you know if you care.

When I left they were making the same base as an AMT with a skill premium just below both AMT tickets worth $5. Due to the distrust in the ASSociation they have locked down their websites that contain contract language. I did hear that FM's base is now above an AMT probably due to the AMT's lack of representation so indeed FM at AA are living large because "a loaf of bread costs the same for everybody".

Thats one thing I have to say about FX our license premium is HUGE it definitely separates A@P's from the rest of the pack. That's why I don't miss industrial unions and their socialism loaf of bread costs the same for everyone. I remember that statement vividly from the IAM when I was at NW
