Great posts Ms Tree and Delldude. If only we could always find ways (as a species) to simply love and care for each other, even without a Holiday...ah...screw it! Let's all just be grateful for all we've been blessed with and can give to others as well this Christmas. :)

Excuse the "touchy-feely-moment of "weakness" here, but this time of year; I always find myself wondering a bit as to just why we/humankind historically can't ever seem to find anything better to do than kill each other for more than a moment...No matter. I certainly don't "make the rules" for our species.

Another brief reminder of what we're actually capable of when not being just too busy slaughtering each other though::

It's fitting to take time at Christmas to remember the essential Good that lives in us...no matter how insane the world gets, or what we have to sometimes do to prevent darkness from conquering us.

Flood-Hit Homes And Businesses Were Attracting Looters, Until These Bikers Stepped In

"We are not there to hurt anybody. We are not there to scare anybody. We are just there as a presence to deter people who are trying to take what’s not theirs," said Cariss, 30, a waterways worker from Bradford.

"We spread out and go wherever needed. The police understood what we were doing. We are not there to offer anything physical. We just show our faces. Obviously we are not vigilantes. A lot of us are quite big, chunky lads, so that helps. We don't have to really say anything, just turn up," said Spencer.

Spencer said he's planning a fundraiser at his pub this weekend to drum up money to replace some of the children's toys lost in the flood.

I'm going to be quite honest here and tell you I'm half in the bag after watching the Steelers/Bengals match.

To quote Myron Cope, Yoi, double Yoi.
At least in the final two minutes, the horrible play and sportsmanship of the Bengals more than any double Yoi from the Steelers led to Steelers victory.

After the game, a deeply philosophical, Adam "Pacman" Jones did some real soul searching about the Bengals inexcusable two penalties for 30 yards meltdown at the end of the game:

(Quite a few f-bombs included)

Was kinda pulling for the Bengals, at the start of the game, sorry Dell but, after the cheap shot by Burfict, the usual thugism by PacMan and the Cincy fans cheering the fact Roethlinsburger was injured, was glad to see Pitt win!

How many made it out?

We let our kids roam the neighborhood looking for adventure, and we occasionally get texts/calls from parents us letting us know "how far away" they are from home. Can't get mad at people for just lookin' out, but man...

Irony alert: The first time I wore a bike helmet was one of my worst wrecks ever...
