Happy Bonus Day!

Go for whatever you want. If your negotiators bring you back your money over jobs (I doubt they will) then you have ONE vote. Maybe people will agree with your vote and join you (I doubt they will) then congratulations. My guess is living in DFW since you probably already have the Big House, the F-150 and the Boat, your next purchase will probably be a nice little Cesna right?
I absolutely don't hate mechanics. But can you take a guess who I probably do hate?
You greedy little Devil you.http://web.mit.edu/airlinedata/www/2014%2012%20Month%20Documents/Employees%20and%20Productivity/MX/Average%20In%20House%20Maintenance%20Employees%20per%20Aircraft.htm

Here's a novel idea.....
Maybe all workers in the US should work for minimum wage. That way we can have ZERO PERCENT unemployment.

52 years and counting now AA employees have said they prefer more jobs over money.

It must be hard in life constantly being a part of the minority?
Please WeAAsles (perfect name for you by the way), tell us how individual mechanics should sell their license, labor, and skill on the CHEAP for OTHER people's benefit.

Do you really think the membership wins when they sacrifice pay and benefits for headcount?

Hey maybe I am wrong. Let's put it to the test.

How many of you mechanics went to school and paid thousands of dollars or served military time and earned your A&P so your labor and license could benefit someone else over the life of your career?

Anybody?

W you are so wrong about the mechanics . Most all the mechanics in the break room want pay raises and increased benefits. They are tired of the socialist union coming back with pay cuts for jobs. If the association dose this time the mechanics will be picikiting twu/iam. Like I said before stay out of the mechanics buisness it dose not concerne you one bit. You do not have a a&p license so stay out of our fight . We don't want you are your stupid saying in your previous post that there will be pay cuts for jobs. That's fine if your doing that on the fleet end. Your not a mechanic and you do not speak for us. I tell you there's a lot of mechanic with over 30 years since aa hasn't hired mechanics in a long time we want our money and benefits. If you want to safe catering and freight go for it that is a fleet issue . But leave us the f alone

Then why havent you been able to change unions?

http://www.iespell.com/
because the greedy mechanics are not as greedy as twu and aa .the greedy mechanics do not have the political pull like the twu and aa to throw people who have died are retired are Mickey Mouse on the list they send to the nmb. It's all politics and big money.the greedy mechanics don't have because our union is only greedy getting there union dues not our pay raises . That's why ### #### . And you know that because you know that stores and fleet have been ridding on our coat tail. Well my coat tail is tired of carrying all of y'all

On a side note Eric. I'm not sure how it worked in your department but I've seen two large layoffs of lower management in my career. The first one was in 2003. I was in DFW and was surprised that upper management got rid of all the one's we didn't get along with (One that I personally did though) Then after the BK what I saw is they got rid of all the older CSM's. Those that were close to retirement. I checked around to other stations and it was the same story in every one I reached out to.

I guess you have to say when you're in management good luck trying to file an age discrimination lawsuit. But I saw the decision of the old AA management team and it was pretty disgusting if you ask me. Those were some decent people that I personally knew.

That's hardly unique to AA. I was involved with the 2003 layoff, and we were deliberately targeting the bottom 10% of performers, even if it meant some departments had zero layoffs and some had lots. There were several people who were high performers who were moved into vacancies created by getting rid of the slugs, and even a few promotions.

By the last round of layoffs, they'd probably already burned thru the low performers *and* many of the high performers were probably already gone by that time. So the weak managers who were left behind resorted to "bridge to retirement" layoffs, which I agree are despicable. Technically, anyone who is over 40 is a protected class for age discrimination, yet it's rarely challenged when layoffs occur because HR probably manages to come up with a richer severance for people over 40...

That's in line with what I paid out of pocket for my degree 30+ years ago.
