After a year of record profits, American Airlines is reinvesting in upgraded customer amenities, with plans for a new high-end lounge and first-of-its kind fine dining experience for its highest-paying customers at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and other hubs around the country, the company announced Wednesday.

American will be rolling out complimentary, full-service tableside dining establishments through its Flagship Dining initiative at airports in D/FW, New York, Los Angeles and Miami. The self-described five-star restaurant experience will feature seasonal menus with fresh, locally sourced ingredients overseen by executive chefs at each location.

The service will be available to First Class travelers on three-class international and transcontinental flights starting in 2017, the company said.

Can't believe they are putting a flagship lounge in PHL all that international flying is suppose to move to JFK

If you remember when the AA/US deal was announced CLT would be gone and all intl flying in PHL would move to JFK - it's clear both of those are not happening

I'm an AA employee and I do not remember any such changes announced.  There was a LOT of guessing about what bases and hubs would close or flying moved.  For instance, it was graven in tablets of stone that STL was on its deathbed.  Well, there is still a f/a and a pilot base there, and they've even picked up some International flying, not nonstop, but something like STL-MIA-BZE-MIA-STL.  Sometimes the Considered Wisdom ain't.
