My understanding is that you guys on the line go to school for every thing (i.e. type equipment) when you hire in.

My question is do you guys have a avionics department at your main hubs to accomplish lmp work? or is everyone qualified?

One of the reasons that I ask is I seen a internal job hiring for usairways in phx and it said it was for avionics.

At AA we have avionics shops at are main bases that basically just deal with avionics.

Also what is your total head count?

Thank You

At the hubs there are avionics only jobs, but they all have to have their A&P also, there is one person who was in CLT that was grandfathered in and just have to have their FCC license.

They closed the avionics shop in CLT after the last bankruptcy, so thats all farmed out.

I am not sure what other cities might have avionics, but I am sure there are a few others and the posters on here will let us know that information.

That job I believe is for an avionics engineer, for software, thats not a job under the CBA.

Headcount for all of maintenance is over 3,400 mechanic and related.
