From Jetwire:

The latest on LAX-Beijing

American filed a motion with the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) on Monday informing the DOT that we have secured the necessary takeoff and landing slots at Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) to launch our previously awarded LAX-PEK service. The new PEK slots will be available to American beginning Oct. 29, but to ensure we have ample time to reposition aircraft and make other necessary service adjustments, we have requested a brief extension of the start-up date. If the DOT grants our request, we will inaugurate daily nonstop service on Nov. 5 and be the first U.S. carrier to operate the route – and offer important competition between the West Coast and the Chinese capital.

To be fair, without WT here, there's not much to discuss, other than acknoweledge what I think most of us were expecting.

So with that being said, it looks like that CZ investment is alredy paying off. Congrats to AA!
