jetBlue are planing on receiving their 190's in 2005. Just a question what are your top 5 cities; you think jetBlue will go for when they receive their new planes.

1. Dallas
2. Chicago
3. Charlotte
4. St. Louis
5. Miami

It will not be MDW - no runway space! Politics can cut loose some gates at ORD; it's much harder to extend a runway into a populated neighborhood.

I myself would hope B6 would go for ORD, because there is more traffic and just becuase more people know ORD than MDW. When you ask people to name an airport in Chicago they say O'Hare. But B6 might go with MDW because its cheaper to fly into like they have with-

LongBeach and Ontario ( near LA )
Oakland ( near San Francisco )

This from the Sr. VP of Operations: we aren't going to MDW. It's a very marginal airport for the A320, considering the weight they'd be at to make the west coast, so we won't go there. ORD it is, whenever it is we go there.

Does anybody think that JBLU will return to ATL with the EMB-190 before 2006, if ever?

After the JFK hub for the 190, where do you think the next hub/focus city will be?

What does anyone think about the possibility of creating a 190 hub at Ontario down the road?

Please post the entire story from jetBlue's VP of Operations. The chances of jetBlue getting a gate in ORD are as about the same as Southwest going Bankrupt. UAL and AA dominate ORD and will not give a gate up for jetBlue. Delta definitely will not give up a gate in the L concourse. So what gate do you actually think jetBlue will get in ORD? NONE!

Your comments regarding the chance of jetBlue getting gates in ORD are so "cute"
 For starters, jetBlue WAS offered gates at ORD several months ago. Two gates to be exact. The only problem was getting the gates close together. JetBlue management did not want to cause it's customers the headache and hassle of going 2 football field distances from one gate to another. Furthermore, having 2 gates in separate areas further complicates the operation and makes for nightmarish logistics during AA and UA's mega banks. In addition, American and United do not make the decision as to whether or not jetBlue or any other airline leases gate space at Chicago ORD.

It's also my understanding that jetBlue has decided on ORD and ruled out MDW. As mentioned previously, ORD is actively trying to pull jetBlue in. To date, they haven't been able to come up with gates that jetBlue actually wants. There was a similar problem at BOS that took more than a year to resolve. However, as we are all aware, that problem was indeed resolved and jetBlue will soon begin serving BOS - not a secondary airport. Look for the same to happen in Chicago. If it takes another year, jetBlue will simply wait. There are plenty of markets available to them in the meantime.
