Fly,
I know you're one of the few people on the planet who don't care about your wages but you sure seem interested in posting other people's. Why don't you put UA F/A scales up here for comparison?

Oh and don't forget to include that DL F/As still have their pension. They will be frozen, not terminated.

I know you are so rich down there in (deleted) that you are out of touch with reality and have no relevance to the common worker, but there are thousands of UA F/As that have taken such a shaft that they are reeling. (if you don't want the initials of your locale posted, I'd suggest you delete the pilot's initials)

For another comparison, here's a look at DL's work rules:

[crickets chirping in the background]

Oh and don't forget to include that DL F/As still have their pension. They will be frozen, not terminated.
I thought the defined benefit pensions were unilaterally converted to a DC plan a few years ago? (Not sure about that though?)

But we know where this is going, WT -- we know! -- so let me save you a little time:

DL is great, DL is good, DL management is just and wise and UA management is evil incarnate / a bunch of bumbling nincompoops, DL pays the best no matter what the dang "numbers" say, the DL BK is all part of The Plan, pay no attention to the man behind the curtain, .............

So what exactly are you mad about? The fact that Delta did exactly what we said they would or that I'm not crying about my wages every day?

Bear,
thank you for posting the info.
The inquiry was simply a comparison of how DL employees fare relative to other employees. The work rules section obviously didn't copy but I would expect that DL F/As don't have the same work restrictions that other flight attendant groups have. I'm disappointed to see any employees have their wages cut; it was abundantly clear with the DL and NW bankruptcies that the industry had reached a tipping point that will force all of the industry to the same cost levels.

I never said that DL flight attendants or any other DL employees would not face wage cuts. I also never said bankruptcy was part of the plan. I have said that DL has a solid plan going into bankruptcy and will move through the bankruptcy process quickly and successfully. But that's not just my assessment - there are plenty of articles showing that DL has moved very decisively.

Fly,
I'm not mad at anyone, including you. I just find it more than a little curious that you seem to care nothing about your paycheck but seem to make a career of promoting unions and telling other airline employees how poorly they have it - esp. those without the "benefit" of unions.

You got rather bent out of shape for me posting the name of your city but you didn't hesitate to post someone else's initials. Once again, your practice and prose don't match.

Just FYI...(I know that all of you have been unable to sleep at night wondering.)

I'm on 4th year pay step at AA. Even after their paycut, a 4th year f/a at DL will make more than I (less than a dollar, but still more). I make more than a 4th year UAL f/a.

Now, go to bed and sleep soundly. You're welcome.

Here's the difference WT. I posted his initials with his blessing, you posted mine without.

You seem a bit bent out of shape that I posted the wages at all. That is what this forum is for, exchanging of information. If you don't like it, I would suggest you don't frequent the boards. Until then, I will continue to post any breaking aviation news I find.

Your welcome!

(I'm not so "rich and out of touch with reality" WT) What's wrong? Angry that I won't respond to your PM's?

FYI...The United wage charts posted previously by Bear 96 were before the last pay cut...to access this agreement, you have to pull up the 2005-2010 agreement on the AFA website. First year f/a's will start at $17.22/hour and you top out at $37.08. International pay is about $4/hour after year 5.

Domestic Hourly Rates

Oops -- sorry about that -- I just clicked on "UAL/AFA Contract" on the left-hand side of the home page. I still don't see a link that says anything like "2005/2010 agreement" (not that I am doubting you).

Apologies for any confusion.

yep and they have holiday pay for 5 holidays at 20 bucks extra an hour. we have none.

They have per diem dom. 1.85 and 2.40 per intl. Beats the pants off us.

The company will pay for part of their long term disability. We pay for ours.

They got the shaft on a few things including the scariest part that Delta will freeze pension payments. No intention of paying into it this year. Could be the start of the PBGC dump.

Stinks all around but could have been much worse. I think.

And it probably will be. If DL are using U and UA as any guide, there will be a few more rounds of cuts before all is said and done.

To reference the current UA contract, do the following:
1) www.unitedafa.org
2) click on UAL/AFA contract (left margin of the screen)
3) click on the link on the right hand margin that says "Be sure to reference the 2005-2010 FA agreement when studying contractual provisions"
4) On the left hand side of that you will find a wage chart.
Just wanted to make sure the correct info is out there! :)
