Boeing's web sight apparently jumped the gun and announced AA has just ordered an additional 47 787s. They have since removed the header. ...

If true that means the company and the pilots are getting along much better than we are contractually. Even though they have a CBA in place the early openers should be interesting if in fact AA wants more Boeing 787's.

And the A350 order (not surprisingly) has been dumped. I suspect AA worked a deal to commit to additional Airbus narrow bodies. This was pretty much what Parker wanted with US Airways to have Boeing wide bodies and Airbus narrow bodies, but both manufacturers offered preferred rates ONLY if it was a package deal with both narrow and wide body planes. Given the number of A320 family series in the US fleet, the Company agreed to accept the A350s to get better deals.
