In some parts of rural Kentucky, they're getting water the old-fashioned way — with pails from a creek. There's not room for one more sleeping bag on the shelter floor. The creative are flushing their toilets with melted snow.

Local officials were growing angry with what they said was a lack of help from the state and the Federal Emergency Management Agency. In Grayson County, about 80 miles southwest of Louisville, Emergency Management Director Randell Smith said the 25 National Guardsmen who have responded have no chain saws to clear fallen trees.

"We've got people out in some areas we haven't even visited yet," Smith said. "We don't even know that they're alive."

Smith said FEMA has been a no-show so far.

"I'm not saying we can't handle it; we'll handle it," Smith said. "But it would have made life a lot easier" if FEMA had reached the county sooner, he said.

Is Obama even aware what's going on in Kentucky? Apparently Obama hates white people and wants them to die.

It is hard to believe that he has been in office almost two weeks and has not been able to turn around the largest non-military federal agency...

By the way, that agency is 'W's legacy. He created it.

Actually President Carter signed the order creating FEMA back in 1979.

Two weeks in office? Not a valid excuse. Obama doesn't have 'turn around' a
federal agency in order for him to respond to a crisis.

The OP is correct -- the bloggers would be sensationalizing this event and blaming Bush
if W was still President.

At least in Kentucky they know how to properly use school busses and emergency shelters.

Hey, where are the reports of rampant looting in Kentucky?

With the big O in office and all this stuff going on we have not heard much from the people who thought Bush was bad and Obama the savior. You folks know who you are. What's up.......................
