WASHINGTON  A/P -- Republicans are the party of the rich, right? It's a label that has stuck for decades, and you're hearing it again as Democrats complain about GOP opposition to raising the minimum wage and extending unemployment benefits.
But in Congress, the wealthiest among us are more likely to be represented by a Democrat than a Republican. Of the 10 richest House districts, only two have Republican congressmen. Democrats claim the top six, sprinkled along the East and West coasts. Most are in overwhelmingly Democratic states like New York and California.

The 10 richest House districts:

Ahem...Not sure what that has to do with the party of the rich.

The fun is taking the freebies the Dems offer for votes and then not voting for them in return.

After all its all legal freebies.

Just pointing out the hypocrisy of those in the red states who ramble on and on about government handouts.

Democracy Alliance, a secretive organization that directs millions of dollars to progressive causes, tries its best to keep its members list and activities a secret.
But a document left behind after the group’s recent conference in Chicago may have undone years of discreet activity.
Members must also donate at least $200,000 to approved progressive groups.
Democracy Alliance, which was founded in 2005 by Democratic strategist Rob Stein, does not publicly disclose details regarding its support for progressive organizations and its members are instructed to never speak about the group or its activities.
But the confidential document retrieved by the Beacon gives an inside look at some of the group’s newest “advisers” and “foundation participants,” a “who’s who” of labor bosses and top Democratic donors and business leaders.

That is the most misleading misinformation political non-statement of a list I have ever seen. All of those districts are in major cities like NYC, SF, LA, etc where the cost of living is astronomical, so of course the per capita income is averaged accordingly. Check out affluent suburban areas outside of Kansas City, Atlanta, Dallas-Ft. Worth, and see how those folks vote.

Note that 700UW's chart runs thru April, 2011, or just slightly more than half of Nobama's first term.    Re-do the chart thru May, 2014, and get back to us.
