- Frontier has also stated this morning that they are looking into selling off slots at Reagan. Maybe this is where SWA will step in and make another offer for Frontier. Only this time SWA will only keep routes, gates and slots. No aircraft. The employees will get offered to come on board but will be hired as new hires. I could very easily see this happening... Just my opinion not a rumer.

Scott Kirby told analysts US Airways has the first right of refusal on Republic's DCA slots. US Airways can block the sale of the slots to another company. In addition, it is my understanding US Airways is in discussion with Republci to obtain Republic's E-190s.

US can't block any sale, but they can buy the slots for the same price.

That'd be the two or three that Republic will be returning to the leasors early, so I suppose US might be interested in leasing them. The 190's have pretty good demand overseas so US better get it's checkbook out and dust the cobwebs off.
