Hopefully Deadwood Virgin is not too far behind. However, King Richard has deep pockets and will continue for some time to try and infect the domestic American market with his low pay airline.

Why the animosity to Virgin? Just asking...

I've noticed that Branson is like a British Donald Trump in that he triggers an intense loathing among some people.
Personally, I don't mind Sir Richard although I do think that ol' Fishface ("The Donald") is pond scum...

For some reason, the big airlines are terrified of a little competition from an airline that treats passengers right. Like when AA did everything they could to force tiny Legend out of business, before they even started. It's amazing how they thought an airline with 6 airplnaes could do much harm to an airline of their size.

tell that to the fine folks at Aloha. It was that "little competition" from Go that put them out of business.
These fly by night airlines better stop whining and be prepared for a fight..... the legacies will not be rolling out
the red carpet for them.

So it's a big deal when employees at Aloha are out of work, but not if employees at newer, smaller carriers are out of work?

There's a big difference between go/Mesa vs. Aloha and Virgin vs. United/American/Delta

Well, that's the simplistic view. Virgin's not the victim of predatory pricing. They're a victim of timing and trying to operate out of the highest cost airports.

Aloha employees aren't out of work because competition. It's because their CEO and other senior executives knowingly abused priviliged information they received under the guise of investing in both Hawaiian and Aloha. They never invested in either carrier, but they used the due dilligence process to build their own business case, and have since engaged in a classic case of predatory pricing.

Don't you mean Go!'s CEO and execs, not Aloha's?

Aloha going out of business was a mixture of BAD management coupled with the final nail from GO! Hawaiian competed directly with GO! and still does. Aloha management chose the direction that company went only to solely blame GO! in the end. Now as for SKYBUS, I'm sorry they were a HORRIBLE idea. There is NO ROOM or REASON for an airline to charge those kind of fares with fuel running where it is. There is no way in hell they were making even enough to cover the cost of their little operation. OBVIOUSLY  If a little airline is going to compete and start taking on the biggest of carriers with fares that are to be quite honest RIDICULOUS, they better have a very talented and strong team running their show. It's unfortunate that the employees of these companies namely Aloha have to be the ones to suffer.
