Southwest Airlines Names Senior Vice President of Labor Relations

Here we go again with yet another level of management. Senior Vice President of Labor Relations. So Mr. Ryan was pushed to the side for this position and they went outside (once again) to hire someone in a very very high position. I see no reason for the new position. Ryan is already VP of Labor Relations. Very curious why they are bringing in someone from the street. We really are turning into "just another legacy carrier". Anyone have anything to add about this new position??
