Because if CO/UA don't come to an agreement then US will be the bride again and the US name will prevail. That will protrect Parker from the COC pilot language. Dougie will be in the drivers seat.

Thats just speculating of course. The real reason is because when UA and Cal announce next week, the market is looking at the reduced capacity and added rev$ that that situation would create for US

Think about this for a second. An airline based in CHICAGO is going to get a free pass on predatory pricing complaints if it means that the airline from JOHN MCCAIN'S home state goes under.

Oh, they'll be reduced capacity alright. About one airline less capacity.

Don't get too excited folks. Here is the reason why:

Oh Good Lord!!

Everyone here needs to take a chill pill.

ATLANTA (AP) -- Shares of US Airways Group Inc. rose sharply Wednesday after an analyst upgraded the airline, citing its better-than-expected first-quarter results and improved liquidity.
Jesup & Lamont analyst Helane R. Becker raised her rating on US Airways to "Buy" from "Hold."

Becker wrote that the carrier's first-quarter adjusted loss of 55 cents per share compared to her firm's estimate of a loss of 74 cents per share.

On average, analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected a loss of 71 cents per share. US Airways reported its quarterly results on Tuesday.

She also noted that US Airways ended the quarter with $2 billion of cash on the balance sheet, of which $1.6 billion was unrestricted.

US doesn't stand a chance. I can't say why because it belongs in the Pilot threads :p If you read about the UA/US agreement the name would still be UNITED!

Hate to wake you up, but Parker has been in the driver's seat all along. Again it belongs in the Pilot's thread! Each day the pilots can't agree, the possible raises earn the airline interest in their bank account. If you think about it, you are talking interests on millions of dollars
