Hey guys, SWA just posted a structual mechanics position on Southwest.com. From what I hear it was posted some time this morning around 8 or 9am. At 10:30pm it was still posted. Get your resumes in quick guys, it will more than likely come down first thing in the morning. The req # is 18850. Good luck to all...

Birdman, Yes, this will be for hanger maint. Yes day trades are allowed, and, currently they are unlimited.
I have been told they will be looking for heavy sheetmetal experience mechanics.

We have 10 new mechanics starting Aug 15th, 2012. I was told that the majority is coming from AA. Along with some from another airline.

Apply as soon as it gets posted guys. The postings usually only last for a few hours. This is the first time I have seen it posted longer in some time. As of 11 am 8-7-12 it was still posted. There will be several days of going thru all the resumes and apps.

Hey Birdman,
Don't ask about day trades during interview. Some who will be interviewing you will be Maint. Sups as well as someone from the people department (HR). We do have some Sups that despise the Day trades, because the payroll/otcs dept never gets thier crew sheet correct and they have to figure out who is here for who and it gets hard for them to assign until everyone is there and present. Your other interviewer will be a mechanic, so don't anyone try to BS your way in-it won't work. Just a heads up Birdman...

I know some of you are getting tired of these post, but I just want all to see.
Southwest.com "STILL" has the Structural Mechanic position REQ #18850 still open and posted @ 11:15 am. This is the longest we have seen a mechs position posted in many many years. I think SWA is trying to get alot of canidates to pick and choose from. They also maybe just building up the list to get them thru JULY of 2013.

BTW: The reason I keep posting is to try and keep this thread on the first page so it is seen as everyone comes to the board, so pls bear with me...

The Structural Mechanic position has been removed. It was still posted at 7pm last night, so I am assuming it was pulled first thing this morning. I hope alot of you AA'ers were able to get your resumes in. When they post another mechs position I will do my best to get it on here ASAP.
