Similar to the season finale on Mr Robot last night but it was a dude who was on the bad end of the stick.

PS - decision time this weekend. oled55b7p 0r oled65c7p - Mounting Dream wallmounts good?
Do you already have a place in mind to purchase it at or are you shopping around.

I can try to find a lower price for you.

Not going to do much better than Amazon or Best Buy.......maybe a few bucks...but.

I ran them both on the net. Go ahead if you wish.

Honestly I would try eBay. You can buy from a top rated seller and using PayPal and eBay would protect you against fraud.

Top seller, free shipping, TV is brand new
https://www.ebay.com/itm/LG-OLED65C...014938&hash=item41c18a179a:g:UucAAOSwTLlZyqlI
US $2,400.00

Walmart
https://www.walmart.com/ip/LG-OLED65C7P-65-C7-OLED-4K-HDR-Smart-TV-2017-Model/55556485
$ 2492.78 plus $167.90 shipping
2660.68 TOTAL

Amazon
https://www.amazon.com/LG-Electronics-OLED65C7P-65-Inch-Ultra/dp/B01NAYM1TP
$2696.99

So in this case getting the TV from eBay from a proven seller would save you 260.68 over Walmart and 296.99 over Amazon.

Not insignificant. I mean that would pay for your soundbar you know?

Even just going to Walmart over Amazon would save you 36.31.

and Best Buy....... those crooks are the worst of all at $2699.99.

Best Buy........ just don't.

Mounting Dream wallmounts good?
I don't know what is good or not good as far as TV mounts.

I will only restate what I said before.

Try to get something that telescopes out as far as possible so that you can access the back of your TV. Trust me you don't want to have to wedge yourself between something hanging off a wall you paid 2000 dollars for and the wall itself.

Watch the weight allowance. The more it can support the better. Remember you have a $2000+ dollar TV hanging on this thing so don't cheap it.

Also keep in mind the mount itself may support a lot of weight but what you use to mount it to the wall (you are mounting a mount :D ) has to be able to support it to. If you are not handy you might want to consider hiring a professional.

So true, I learned years ago cheapest is not always best, no matter what you are shopping for. What you are looking for is value.

Amazon has done a great job convincing the buying public they can offer the best price but it just isn't true.

I would also like to state that people often overlook eBay. I can tell you I have bought a lot of new products off of eBay and have only had an issue 1 time. That one time I had an issue I got a refund with no issues. Remember this, eBay almost ALWAYS favors the BUYER.

Best Buy in my experience is usually on the high side.

Guys I wanted to talk with you about refurbished products.

I often buy refurbished from Walmart and I can tell you buying refurbished is like buying new. These products come to you in basically new condition as they are refurbished to factory spec. These refurbished items also carry 1 year warranties with them (as does the one offered by Amazon in my example below).

For instance......

LG 65" 4k Smart TV (OLED65E7P)

Walmart
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Refurbis...-OLED65E7P-1-Year-Extended-Warranty/874524535
$2,972.44 Refurbished (Free Shipping)

Amazon
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XZP9ZH...lX&pd_rd_r=7NBRYFP24TVDT28FK4TE&pd_rd_w=nDGPg
$3,496.99 (Free Shipping)

Both have 1 year warranties.

So........ would you rather spend $524.55 for basically the same thing?

I wouldn't.

On a different note.........

How about eBay?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/LG-OLED65E7P-65-Smart-OLED-4K-Ultra-HD-TV-with-HDR/292075634249?_trkparms=aid=555019&algo=PL.BANDIT&ao=1&asc=41375&meid=aa7bdd9961794a40a3b731c649a4717b&pid=100505&rk=1&rkt=1&&_trksid=p2045573.c100505.m3226
$2,798.95 (Free Shipping)

What do you know..... eBay wins again with $698.04 savings over Amazon and $173.49 over Walmart. Though you might want to contact the seller for warranty information on eBay.

Still think Amazon gives you the best deals?

One more thing about refurbished to look out for.

Sometimes they will raise the list price to make you think your getting a good deal.

Like the TV used in the example above is on Newegg for 3,496.99 (the high side) new or refurbished.

They show the list price as $5,999.00 with a line through it to make you think you are saving money. In fact that is NOT what the TV sells for even new.

NEW
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod...71&cm_re=OLED65E7P-_-16C-000P-00162-_-Product

REFURBISHED
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod...80&cm_re=OLED65E7P-_-16E-000N-000V5-_-Product

I am trying to teach anyone that finds it useful how to shop online. :)

You do it right you can save a lot of money.

For all of you that think Amazon is the one stop shop to get great deals read this.

https://www.woodcraft.com/products/razertip-single-pen-power-supply-120v
$119.99

https://www.amazon.com/Razertip-Sin...052&sr=1-1&keywords=razertip+wood+burning+kit
$227.00

For a like product Amazon is $107.01 higher. Almost twice the price.

Even the superior product (2 pens instead of 1) from Woodcraft is cheaper than Amazon's single pen offering. $67.01 cheaper in fact.

Woodcraft even offers a larger selection. You won't find the double pen option on Amazon.
https://www.woodcraft.com/products/razertip-double-pen-power-supply-120v
$159.99

So the point of this post
, SHOP AROUND.

Too often do I hear people tell others just to use Amazon to find the lowest price. Sometimes they do have the lowest but often times they do not.

So delldude you going to tell use about your TV shopping experience and what you ended up with. Did you get a sound bar? Did the solution I offer for you to hook your FM radio to the soundbar work?

When it comes to TV's, I am willing to pay a bit more to the place that actually HAD the TV's that I could see and compare. E-bay and Amazon are great. But if I walked into a Best Buy and compared picture quality and looks in person...that should be worth SOMETHING.

I am ready....decided to paint the room first, got that started, then a family nuclear event comes down the pike, then decided to escape the winter blues and am sitting in Gulf Shores where its currently 40 heading for 28.

Have a Samsung 49 inch in the hotel room...is ok but no OLED.....no comparison on the colrs, especiallay black.

For the time being, I can run the LG into my old surround system while using the sound bar too and use the tuner as a stand alone for the time being.Looking at the 340w bar.

Will finish painting and hopefully be on the wall for the super bowl....if not, its going on a stand temporarily.

BTW prices have come down even slightly more....
