Prime air force jobs go begging
Budget cuts blamed: Able to recruit only a quarter of the new pilots it needs

The Canadian Forces is having trouble finding new pilots, usually one of the most sought-after jobs in the military, senior air force officers have told the National Post.
Recruiters last year succeeded in signing up only about a quarter of the number of new pilots needed to replace retiring aircrew.
"This is one of the best times in history to be applying to become a pilot in the Canadian Forces," said Lieutenant-Colonel Russ Konyk, the head of the Air Force Retention Office in Ottawa. "There are cockpits available."

I know they don't accept applicants with laser surgery. But how about if you only want to get on the less high performance choppers or the Herc?
