United Extends Suspension of all 737MAX aircraft until June 2020

Two thoughts...

Keep in mind how few Max's are at United... Prior to grounding, they had 14, not including delayed deliveries. Taking 14 aircraft out of the schedule is a rounding error when you have 550 narrow-bodies in operation plus large RJ's...

If it were approved to resume flying in early Jan, it's easy enough to bring them back into the schedule.

Not sure about the other airlines but SWA is currently working many downlines. Sending mechs to Victoria from all over the system to get the grounded Maxes up to date with maint., checks etc... This started mid Dec. and will continue through March-April. Lot's and lot's of o/t out the ying-yang. All SWA mechanics doing all the work. Not sure if AA or UAL is doing the same or not.
