United Mechanics Contract

Sounds like the IBT Airline Division is recommending a yes vote with all this BS. It's a concessionary contract and we should vote a very loud no.

"Profit sharing is a component of what the company makes!" So a mechanic has nothing to do with it, Wow! Please vote this down! What a pile of f crap. Sick leave is not a guarantee nor is it income. It shouldn't be considered. This is so disrespectful. I heard that because of FAR's United/Continental has to perform a certain amount of actual man-hours worth of maintenance to each aircraft in its fleet. Due to homeland security rules they can't "bus" those manhours in everyday, nor farm them out, so they have to have skilled, educated, licensed and tooled American citizens to perform the work, that are willing to put up with being on the hook for an indefinite period of time for any and all maintenance performed. So why, after 4 years and a 93% NO VOTE are they peddling such sub-par perifial BS as industry leading? All that benefit crap is great, but an hourly wage not in the 70's or 80's puts the industry behind plumbers, construction workers, landscapers, and car mechanics. 8 Years??? I can go on and on but I won't. Vote No and work like they treat/think of you, see how far that gets them.

Vote materials mailing Nov 14, voting period Nov 18 to Dec 4 , votes counted Dec 5.

Last time they extended the voting because they had put voting materials on a slow boat to Guam for the Air Mic guys.

Congrats to the delta employees. Hope this will help you guys vote this down even more now. I assume this will pop the "five-O" marker for the Delta guys.
I see its time for you guys to start receiving your ballots, good luck to all of you over the next couple of weeks. Look forward to the results.

My math puts them at right under 50 by a few pennies. Well good for them, I am happy for them.
Tomorrow starts the voting for you guys. Since this announcement about Delta employees, have you been hearing even more rumblings about your up coming vote?
D, I hate to say it but I have heard we may not have anything to see for another 2-3 years. If this is the case I smell major, major labor relations between co. and mechanics in the future.
