US Airways Group Inc.’s vice president of sales and marketing is leaving the airline.

Travis Christ will be replaced this month by Andrew Nocella. Nocella, senior vice president of schedule planning and alliances, will maintain his current duties but take on Christ’s responsibilities as well. The latter role includes overseeing business development, the airline’s Web site and its sales division.

Nocella’s new title will be senior vice president of marketing and planning.

Christ joined America West Airlines, which bought US Airways three years ago, in 1997. He plans to pursue an opportunity outside the airline industry.

Arizona-based US Airways (NYSE:LCC) operates 3,500 flights per day to more than 230 destinations in the Americas and Europe. Its largest hub is at Charlotte/Douglas International Airport.

Anyone hear where Travis Christ is going?

Interesting that all those duties can be combined with another VP's duties, guess neither was that busy if one can do the job of two previously ;)

too bad that monkey Nocella isnt leaving with him,
in fact too bad the Sand Castle isnt being cleaned out all together

I will have to agree with Bob here. I spoke to Nocella a few times, and was impressed with him and his knowledge.
