US Airways History

What low cost carrier has 10 regional airlines? What carrier period has 10 regional airlines?

Obviously, the definition of "low cost carrier" is somewhat subjective, but here's the list as defined by BTS (listed in order of BTS calculated CASM):

JetBlue - no express
ATA - Chicago Express (wholly owned)
Southwest - no express
America West* - Mesa
AirTran - no express (tried it but judged to costly)
Spirit - no express
Frontier - Horizon & Great Lakes

*This is as of the 3rd qtr, so pre-merger

The whole pay for departure scam is flawed from the get go that is, unless your name is Ornstien or Bedford.

What happens here is US AIRWAYS is paying for another company's aircraft and operation, with a guarenteed profit.

The excuse you hear from management on this is that they cant afford to buy all these shiny new jets. This is flawed, as most new aircraft are leased, and besides that by paying cost plus, Airways is already paying for these aircraft.
