Were Hiring

Thanks for the offer, but I'm too old to think about starting over. Think I'll just sit in the rocker on the porch, bounce the granddaughter on the knee, and let the PBGC support me.

Frontier isn't the only one. Independence Air is skating on some thin ice as well. Their loads are less than half of what they projected and they're losing their shirt.

F9 is doing fine, loads are low at all airlines this time of year with the end of summer and the start of the fall season. With the lay-offs coming at UAL and USAIR soon to be in a second BK, we'll still be looking for some good pilots. F9 has been back in business for 10 years now and UAL has tried every year to put us out of business but to no avail. We'll still be around 10 years from now and working on making F9 what it was 30 years ago.

That only reflects the cost of doing business with our new fleet type BUCKO! We have received 10 new aricraft and we've had to dole out lots of capital for pilot and crews training. We have fuel woes just like everyone else but not as bad as most. So yes we lost 6.6M most all to do with our growing operations. You haven't heard ANYTHING about F9 downsizing operations, asking for paycuts, or furloughing employees. Contray to what you want to beleive F9 is hiring new people everyday for our growing operations. And, it is a happy place to come to work EVERYDAY unlike the turmoil at USAIR and UniTED.

When it is all said and done at UAL you will probably see a very downsized operation for UAL here in Denver, leaving the door wide open for F9 to continue our growth plans for the Denver metro area.

Like any other airline we try new markets, if they don't work you move on right. They weren't cancelled, the frequency was changed. And everyone thinks that TED is killing F9 here, but that is not the case either. They fly approximately 25K a day the same as we do. With the anouncement of the new lay offs coming to UAL, alot might come from the Denver hub.

The BK judge would not let UAL get out of their lease agreements with Denver, they have it under appeal. If they don't win, you can bet the Denver hub will be downsized considerably since UAL would NEVER move out of ORD, SFO, or their east coast hubs. They haven't shut us down yet! Were like the energizer bunny, we just keep going and going  And UAL lost their status years ago as Denvers hometown airline.

Pineybob,

We traded at $9 a share today. What did US trade at $2? We are in much better finacial shape than UAL and USAIR don't you think. None of the LCC'S are laying off, asking for pay cuts, and not reworking their business plans. You don't hear of Frontier, SWA, Jet Blue, Indepedance Air, going through any of this. You have WAY to much to worry about in your own house then to worry that Frontier had a small disappointing quarter. See you after the first of the year when F9 is BACK IN BLACK and probably handing out profit sharing checks next summer AGAIN  . Did you get one of those this YEAR???

You see it as negative, we see it as just a part of doing business. After the demise of USAIR and possibly UAL the whole airline industry will continue to be reshaped. And, you can be that F9 will be right there with the other LCC's still keeping the customers happy.

Pineybob,

Your going to need a new airline to fly you around, come try out F9!

Good job Piney Bob! Mrfish is so cock sure about F9's operations that he and his senior management are so cought up in competing that they don't recognize when to retrench when the balance sheet tells them to. Mrfish, you can stay too long doing what your are doing to stay competitive and watch you airline get into trouble. Be careful that F9 does not become the first LCC to fall out of favor. Southwest is beginning to have trouble, we know already about America West and Air Tran. TED is making a dent in your markets. Customers like being able to link to the Star.
