What could US airways be promising AA's unions to gain support of a merger? Can USairways deliver on such a promise? What is USairways doing with their own unions? As I understand it America West and USair are STILL operating separately......If USairways is promising AA's unions raises are the US unions getting those same raises, what about seniority? I think the employees of AA, US and AW deserved to be filled in on some basic questions, whether it be from the union or the company, any company, remember the employees make everything work.

Just one correction - only the pilots and FA's are still operating separately. The rest of the employees are integrated and US is operating on one ops certificate.

Otherwise, the US people are asking the same questions you are. They have received no promises from management about what will happen if there's a merger. Apparently, US offered the 3 AA unions better contracts than the AA term sheets would produce (and at least for the AA pilots the term sheet offered better than US has been willing to offer it's own pilots).
