Boeing workers found cracking part on some 737NG jets

So inspections are coming. AD related. As usual, see it on the news before hearing from the company.

Boeing workers found cracking part on some 737NG jets

I was curious about these articles popping up. No discussion on Boeing Fleet Team or IdeaXchange about this.

    American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

Noob MCT here, with less than 10 year classification seniority. Looks like no ‘grandfather’ language to keep at current pay step. The lack of that language would give half the current MCT’s a $15 pay CUT and result in a freeze for 5 years.

That, and act as liability protection to the OEM. The manuals are written to give step by step instructions so that 1: the aircraft is repaired in the method which the manufacturer intends it to work and 2: in the easiest instructions possible so that the mechanic can do the work and...

American says fleet data gives it confidence

Pilots aren’t always the brightest. I don’t give them too much credit, BUT... They do have a lot of systems to manage on the 737. There is a lot of automation because it’s basically a smarter 727 with a lot of relays to replace the F/E. To remember and be aware of all of them at the right...

    Aircraft maint issues

Exactly. That’s the twist they put on everything when using the word safety as a guise. From what I’ve seen none of the other aircraft requiring inspection/rework are going to TUL. They are going to other domestic MRO’s, including STS in PAE who did the mod. You’re absolutely right in...

I get that. I’m saying that we regularly react to problems and fix them as normal course of business. Why the publicity?

They always claim safety is the number one objective....at least when the statement is made publicly or in front of a camera. Everything I see in the company communications is let with 'on time performance' or to 'reduce OTS'. My opinion, they are big-dealing this to piggyback on SWA's...

    American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

It was varied, not the same across all workgroups. Some 7+,8+, 9+, 11+ years to get to top of scale. My group went from 4+ to 9+. Then my pay was frozen for 3 years until I reach the next wage increase on the scale.

The raises did not come free from the company. It was a trade for cross-utilization and to implement a 9 year top out. It wasn't to help us at all. They paid for what they wanted.

Noob here, just want to reach TOS before we get a contract. Have had pay red-circled once already, not interested in 5+ years without a raise. You senior of the seniors can have my locker, I'll be gone.

JCBA Negotiations and updates for AA AMTS

Couldn't figure out how to attach a file or image (as you see I'm a noob), and I'm not going to type it all out.  Here are the numbers for AMT's and MCT's.  I am the latter....froze for 3 years before I see a raise.  Then another 5 years before reaching TOS.   Not sure how this interim LOA was...

JCBA Negotiations and updates for AA AMTS

"You are part of a small group of employees who is already paid more per hour than the new scales provide for. You will not see any loss of pay, but will remain on your pay step until your years of service catch up with your pay rate (also known as being red circled)."
