    AMFA Mechanics contract.08/ 2012

You might be right, from what I've seen so far SWA has the tendency to do everything ass backwards. But from my experience of a falling airline, the first to go is usually the back office fat and the heavy higher ups, then come the pilot and F/A groups, looking for furloughs and/or layoffs...

NMB Gives Parcial Ruling SWA/AT Integration

Here's a link to the NMB page so you can follow it. The united flight instructors when through the identical path as are from single operation to certification and it took them like 22 days total. I would expect the same for us so that would mean some time next week we will know something...

The good thing about being top heavy is that they are the first to go when or if #### hits the fan!!

SWA starts proving runs to SJU

    And they're all -800's!

    AMFA Mechanics contract.08/ 2012

Well, we don't interact night in and night out, yet, but we are forced to cross paths on a regular basis, servicing O2, using the RDS, etc... Most guys that go over there tell me that most guys are pretty cordial. Some still won't look you in the face but like I said, it's like that from both...

    AMFA Mechanics contract.08/ 2012

Okay, my eyes must be lying to me because I am here every night in MCO and the majority of the guys are getting along pretty well, unlike BWI which has a table that separates the room they share into 2 halves! The 16 on days and eves on MCO was for the benefit of the SWA guys as well as the...

    AMFA Mechanics contract.08/ 2012

It wasn't in MCO, but from what I've been hearing out of BWI, I'm not surprised... There are a lot of high tempered mechanics up there apparently, former AT and original SWA... The MCO guys, in their majority, have been pretty welcoming, almost like accepting the inevitable. I know there are...

    AMFA Mechanics contract.08/ 2012

Word on the floor is that the company is working really hard on eliminating the 24 hr shift amongst many other things they want to implement into the CBA... i.e. attendance policy, 4th line relief, weeks notice for shift trades, no more double time past 12, all with minimal compensation. Hangar...

NMB Gives Parcial Ruling SWA/AT Integration

Oct 11th would be the full integration day if the IBT doesn't contest.... I don't suspect them to have the grounds or the balls to contest.

    AMFA Mechanics contract.08/ 2012

That's not entirely true, maybe so for the run/taxi portion of it but to upgrade and maintain CATIII, per the MPM, it has to be a SWA tech authorized and trained on the equipment. Granted, the company could just try and change the verbiage in the MPM but if we were to add that to our scope...

TWU Local 555 Files for federal mediation

First, Buscador, this is not the rant and rave forum that we created, or better said SWADL created, just for you, this is the rampers forum and their situation so please, stop your continuous thread stomping! Second, you said something in your post that's rather that I found rather disturbing...

SWA FA Vote yes to Overwater flying and Near International

So SJU is considered to be an international destination??

SWA FA Vote yes to Overwater flying and Near International

None of the AT A/C are ETOPS, so why would SWA need ETOPS A/C to make a run on SJU?? Only difference I've seen in the AT to SWA -700's are life rafts and HF but AT was already flying to SJU prior to us installing them. What i'm getting at is, I don't see any reason why SWA can't just start...

SWA FA Vote yes to Overwater flying and Near International

I would bet the same. Take away all the FL flights to SJU and bombard it with SWA flights. Give JetBlue a good run for their money!
