How about something more like:
US Airways Unions Lead the Way!
Agreeing to the most realistic agreements for legacy carriers and lowering the bar one more time. An unidentified spokesman for management says "By working together with the Unions, with another round or two of negotiations we can...
You guys and gals are the ones complaining all the time....I am not - in fact I am very happy with what I do and how I am compensated. Many people do what you do just fine with the Regionals....without all of the whining! In fact lots of them would love to have the contracts you have.
If it...
What is a reasonable view about flying today? Pay an advertised fare and expect to arrive at my destination with my bags (close to ontime)? Maybe the airline is in dire financial straits because of unreasonable union contracts.
You are proving my point exactly. Airline Employees always toss around these meaningless numbers. Let me ask the question another way - Why don't we use something like Gross Compensation. If her total salary is 24k for the year, as I am being led to believe....I will give up on this.
I have...
Okay so 28x71x12 = 23,856 - Now what about all of these contract line items? Senior Pay Premiums? Aft Lead Premiums? Holding Pay? Understaffing Pay? International Pay? Training Pay? Language? Galley Pay? Holiday Pay? The list goes on....what is reasonable for a F/A...
Thanks for the details.
So at $28.00 an hour what is the min-max one could make a year? Working the least possible number of hours or with full overtime?
Small Point - We all have a lot of expenses - but isn't the Per Diem supposed to cover tipping hotel van drivers?
Jim - The bottom line is that the FAA requires it on flights scheduled over 8 hours (I am all for that). The UAL pilots thought it would be great to pay another guy to play cards with on flights scheduled 6-7-8 hours. Is my life more in danger today without this?
Busdrvr - I realize you have...
I grow tired of all this whining: :P
I think this thread has proven a point - that nobody here will give me a real number. Most of the numbers referenced here are a comparison (WN). US Air is not WN.
Here are my findings so far:
Mechs are more educated then pilots - they deserve every...
Why don't you go make an offer to one of those CEOs (I am not sure they would take it because of the mess here). BTW don't the pilots here have a representative on the board who selects the CEO (and pay package).
Jim - you must have missed the part
BTW Pilot Jim,
"Let's pay screeners and agents Millions when they discover those guns, tools and other weapons of mass destruction when they equal the skills of a qualified pilot such as yourself.
A concerned passenger. Thanks for driving safely! "
Why are...
This is crazy and so are you...go on with all this BS...but a regional Pilot can fly to Canada, Mexico and the Bahamas at no more then $100 per hour - back to my original question why should you make more? I agree it is challenging to fly into Europe - this is why the international language is...
Hmm...so it takes 1,000 hours of time + 100 hours of multi + 100 hours instrument...what is the deal? Dude that isn't rocket science to start for a regional.
From a customer's perspective mechs are much more educated in comparison to pilots.
