    Tell me something good...

Welcome to the family! We are family in that we fight, bicker and rant, but in the end we (most of us) stick together and have each others back! It will be a challenge working in Phoenix as your starting salary will be quite low. But you have the opportunity to work extra hours on days off to...

'Drunk' man pees on 11 year old on JetBlue flight

How do we know he consumed 8 alcoholic beverages ONBOARD? He could have had 3 doubles at the airport and 2 on the plane (or whatever combo). As a Flight Attendant, (especially on a Red-eye when most people are sleeping) most of us are acutely aware when someone drinks to excess. 8 is quite a...

US Airways plane examined in PA. because of threat

This does not make sense. Passengers from Scotland must deplane and clear customs. Then the aircraft gets security swept BEFORE the Anchorge flight can board...... Was the threat discovered from the GLA flight? If so, why did they board the ANC flight? It may be a through flight number, but...

    DOT approves slot swap!

When LGA closed ALOT of people lost their jobs, FAs and Pilots (if they didn't quit or retire) got displaced to other bases. Some other "mainline" employees did as well, but there are many good people who are no longer with US  At a meeting that was held when they first made the...

    DOT approves slot swap!

That was the plan the whole time! Where have you been? Its too bad they closed the LGA base immediately after they made the initial announcement. If they waited until now (the actual approval) their profit margins might have been a tad higher. I never thought it was a good idea to begin with...

    AFA labor discussion (Work related)

Actually there is NO blood Test to confirm! There IS a Reaseach Dr. in WA that is conducting research in an attempt to come up with a conclusive test. Trust me because I was exposed on a 319 several months ago. I was out of work for a few weeks, went to the company "Dr." took all kinds of...

    Airline execs discuss mergers, innovation

There are many "junior" people that are here now.... from all workgroups. Please don't "label" us as Junior or Senior Nor East or West. See thats what some of our problems are here! Seperate and Divide is WRONG! I've been here for 10 years and up until 6 months ago was considered a "new hire"...

    Slide deployment in CLT

Two things. Once the A/C is moving NO Pilot is going to come out of the cockpit to "check a door". If it is a safety issue its the FAs JOB is to respond to the Pilots concern. Secondly, if that slide deployed with the door mostly closed, the F/O would not have lived through it to be sent for...

    Slide deployment in CLT

BS alert times 3! The Boeing is a "manual" slide ... ie. It is not Pneumatic assist. Unless there's some pressure issues, its impossible for that to happen. There is NO way for the FD to activate a slide... How can they blow a slide on taxi??? The door must be cracked open. Consider...

    Flight Attendant New Hires/Trainee

When I when through training (East) in 2001 we got a hotel room and "happy hour" at the hotel. When I went through training for "merger" to work on the West side in 2005, they did NOT provide a hotel room but we got paid training pay. The new hires then received $20/day per diem (no hotel)...

    Flight Attendant New Hires/Trainee

I'm so glad we have new hires! I can finally say now that I am no longer a "hew hire" after 10 years! Welcome to the Family! Hope to fly with some of them real soon!!!

    Hiring

As far as FAs, there are no more fuloughs left to call back and we hired some new off the street. Last week they were still open, but I would not be surprised if they have stopped. We have some new hires in training now and some just graduated Monday.

    AFA labor discussion (Work related)

So, if everyone is so concerned with the Union's business (or lack thereof) the recall, etc., how come there was no word here about the meeting in PHL today about the recall? Did anyone attend? I would but I'm based in CLT and on duty. I would certainly like to hear if "anyone" attended...
