    Theoretical Question

There is -- the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA). The Department of Labor "investigated" it, but (as other cases have shown) their "investigation" was pitiful and I have uncovered extensive evidence pointing to discrimination based on military service -- here's...

    Theoretical Question

Dear Jim, I was wondering if there's an "early out" going on now -- at 50 I know (if I had stayed) I still wouldn't be eligible to retire. When I left in 2010 there were two packages: one was to leave early (which for me was January instead of September, when MCI closed for good) and not seek...

    Theoretical Question

While I've been away from AA since January of 2010 I have been following the comings and goings, and was saddened to hear that things haven't changed much. Now you AA employees are going through the BK mess we TWA employees suffered through -- while some would rejoice at your plight, I'm not...

    DWH Scam on the horizon

Vortilon, what's the low (X-MCI employee) seniority date? I'm curious as to if I would have still had a job if I'd stuck it out.......

    DWH Scam on the horizon

Thanks -- I remember a lot of guys that were the initial TWA "B" scale in '86 and wondering if they stood a chance. The early '86 crowd (I was one of them) stayed on the property through a lot of turbulent times when people just below us got bumped around/out numerous times. Oddly enough...

    DWH Scam on the horizon

Hey Bubba, Any word yet as to the lowest seniority that will still have a job if they transfer to DWH (or anywhere else on AA system? Just curious.......

    Tulsa World Article

Considering that Clark won't have a job in a matter of months (MCI closing) and the virtually invisible line between the TWU and management, does it really make any difference?

Duke, I work for the Kansas City (Kansas) Board of Public Utilities (electricity and water) as a Traffic Signal Technician. With all the advances in traffic control technology and the fiber optic cable splicing we also do it's a real secure job for those in the shop.

Well, 1) I get "travel privileges" with my part-time government employer (ANG), they're free but they're far from first-class :P 2) Since I actually have far better pay now (look at what your medical/dental benefits cost ya -- mine are company-paid) I can afford to buy any air/rail/ship travel...

    Cavemen and Lizards

What will they be feeding you on AMT day, hot dogs? Jeez, I would have thought they'd have slipped you the weenie enough....... Sorry, couldn't resist. It would be interesting to see how many of the TWU sheep at MCI take part in the fiesta tomorrow. Kind of the "last supper" treatment.

WOW, decided to stop by and see how my "previous life" employer was fairing on the ol' board here, and guess what I see: more people content to live on their knees. I would suggest that those not content with the current conditions look for another career FAST, because these weak-kneed sheep...

    Retiree Medical Supplemental- Obamacare, Refundable?

Kansas City, Kansas Board of Public Utilities. Left AA @ 28.20/hr, joined BPU at 28.87/hr -- with a lot shorter commute and all the perks I listed. And you're right, I left at just past 48 so I got it all back. But I'm sure they made a little off of keeping it for the time I was there.

    Retiree Medical Supplemental- Obamacare, Refundable?

When I left AA it was refunded, although I don't think there was any interest included from all the time they kept it. It's sure nice (now) to work for an employer that actually values me as a human being -- all insurance is paid for by the company, company-sponsored wellness screenings yearly...

    Glading's Delusions

Bob, Still work on "heavies", they're just all painted low-visibility gray  Got to enjoy Thanksgiving, my birthday, Christmas, wife's birthday, and New Year's on the flight line at LTAG with my souped-up 707's. Nothing like watching a C-5 take on fuel at 20,000 feet :D

    Cancelled Mediation Meeting

I agree to a point. What about the guy that was making it OK on 40 hours a week and then takes a cut like we did in 2003? Through no fault of his own his wages have been cut and now he is forced to rely on either a second job or overtime to maintain the status quo. I'm sure everyone knows some...
