Dean Bass does still work for them. Unaware of his exact title but have seen him flying XSE out in edmonton for a tour within the last 3 months.

are there other companies other then the 214 operators that hire low timers for sandbaggin?

it does indeed. is there a busy time for logging? I'm assuming spring into summer but I'm from the other coast so not 100% familiar with the busy seasons for logging. I have a good idea of the comapnies to look into but if andone has any personal favorites I would love to hear about them,

The company I'm currently with has taken R22 guys and trained them in the past....so hopefully they'll take another :unsure: All the otehr "rampies" I'm working with are 206 endoresed except for 1. I keep reassuring myself that 10 hours on a jetbox won't mean much when it comes down to hiring...

I've been on another board recently that has mostly fixed wing members here in Canada. Over the last while there has been a huge problem with low time guys going out and buying PPC's to get jobs over guys who have been working on the ramp for X number of years. Does this ever happen on the heli...

excellent to know!! I am going to look into the reserve's. Anybody on here involved in the reserve's? I am located in edmonton. So maybe being close to a reserve unit will help?

A little birdy once told me a few years ago that it was once possible to go into the air force (already having a civiy cpl) as a Air Navigator and eventually becoming a pilot as experience and time was put in, even though he she did not have 20/20 vision uncorrected? Is this still possible today...

thank you for the replies. greatly appreciated. I have a check ride coming up somtime in the future with the company I am working for, so just trying to get my though process back. What about weird wind situations. Say you have a nice elongated are....road perhaps....but the wind is 90 degrees...

So a question from a rookie (me) to all you experienced and knowledgable folks. What are your best tips/tricks/methods/stories for shooting confined areas. I guess I have no exact question. Just always find I learn more from others then going over the "S's" and procedure 13 million times. Good...
