Unfortunately for me i work as an amt general in one of the 767 hc lines at afw and know that i'll be gone in the first wave of layoffs . After 22 years of service for AA ( 12 years Title V and last 10 years as an amt ) this is just an insult to myself and a lot of my fellow brothers and sisters...
I remember that when i was stationed in MIA during the early 90's all of our local members were coded TE for several days during hurricane Andrew and other storms during that decade . Here at AFW they are trying to do the same move by making employees opt for TL , PV , VC or make up the lost...
I've been working at AA for 20+ years and at the present time i'm at AFW OH as an AMT HC/LC line , and i can tell you that i didn't have a problem with the line vs. base compensation because you can't compare cost of living wise AFW and TULE with any of the line stations . Believe me i worked...
Of course they are not going to say there is a problem at AA . That's their PR office protocol , but we all know that you'll get the same language from AA headquarters everytime .
Enough is enough , we want respect . Change start from the top .
I'm just extremely upset that the union's negotiating committee allowed this pos proposal to get this far . It's nothing but an insult to everyone in M&E and it makes me sick . Do not vote yes or we all are going to be doomed . Its designed to divide and conquer the membership . NO NO NO NO
