I will await an answer from AMFA national on how the contractual iam pension contributions will be handled in the event of a change. If they will be changed to increase 401K from 5% to 9% in lieu of the pension contributions, then I can live with that. If I'm going to lose out on $$...

I don't have a problem leaving the plan for an equal contribution into my 401K. I've been around long enough to see thru any BS. My concern is to not lose any $$ due to me. You AA guys should look into joining the IAM. Let the IAM transition the 2 existing contracts together, get put in a truely solid funded pension plan, back up to 10 paid holidays, gain swap language, force AA to pay mechanic wages that mechanics for the #1 airline deserve, get rid of that joke...

I am fully aware of the election rules that the NMB goes by. That stands for National Mediation Board if you didn't know. If your already an IAM member you don't need to fill out a card. And the percentage is 50% to force an election. It sounds like you are the one not aware.

So OSM,s (Overhaul Support Mechanics) are not real mechanics? At US a mechanic is a mechanic whether you work the line or base (Heavy) maintenance. And as far as utilty workers they DO NOT work on aircraft and are not qualified per our contract to work on A/C so what they get paid is irrelevant...
